Fashion is undoubtedly a serious matter for Giorgio Armani but can also represent play, evasion or a moment of suspension. Especially with haute couture, a space in which the designer can indulge in unexpected bursts of creativity.


The collection is profoundly Armani in its open embrace of different cultures and the joy with which it transcends boundaries to explore distant worlds.

“Since this couture collection is so expressive, we could create a more indulgent makeup look. We incorporated colours from the collection in a painterly eye look, with the shape inspired by 1920’s. By keeping skin natural, makeup reflects the high-spirited feel of the clothes. The combination of different textures creates light and shadow on the runway” said Armani Global Makeup Artist Hiromi Ueda about the makeup look.

Make-up look step by step:

FACE
Prepare the skin with CREMA NERA SUPREME REVIVING LIGHT CREAM. Apply LUMINOUS SILK FOUNDATION for a natural skin. Contour the face using LUMINOUS SILK CONCEALER in a shade four to five shades deeper than the natural skin tone, and highlight using LUMINOUS SILK CONCEALER in a shade one to two shades lighter. Highlight the cheekbones for extra dimension with FLUID SHEER in shade #2.

EYES
Apply EYE TINT in shade #50 to create definition and shape through socket-line and at outer corners. Use EYE TINT in shade #12 to add highlight at the inner corner of the eyes and browbone. For deeper skin tones, use a blend of EYE TINT in shades #56 and #8 in the center of the eyelid. Yellow pigments were used in the inner corner of the eye for the purpose of the show.

LIPS
Apply the LIP MAESTRO in shade #201 and add LIP POWER in shade #403 on top for extra dimension.
