The 33rd edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion Week commenced last week, drawing fashion enthusiasts and top brands to the iconic Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau. Within three days, twenty-four leading Spanish fashion labels showcased their collections. Delve into the highlights of each of the shows:

TUESDAY APRIL 9TH

With Escorpion’s collection you are taken on a multicultural journey, blending soft yarns with noble fabrics like wool and silk, offering oversized bomber jackets and knit sweatshirts in a lilac palette, echoing the future dusk trend. Simorra’s “The Art of Braiding” collection celebrates communal strength through braiding, while Hoss Intropia’s “Holi” collection captured the vibrancy and celebration of the Hindu festival, blending elaborate details with natural fabrics for a joyful expression of fashion.

Lola Casademunt by Maite revived the pop art movement with vibrant colors and striking prints, incorporating red animal prints and vivid color palettes into original designs using materials like pleats and quilted jacquards. In Sita Murt’s collection ancestral savoir-faire was blended with new technologies, offering knitwear pieces in a palette of ecru, black, and feminine neutrals alongside nature-inspired tones like eucalyptus green and honey, highlighting the brand’s essence.

WEDNESDAY APRIL 10TH

Larhha infused Gothic structures of the Sainte-Chapelle into garments, with circular headpieces and extravagant gowns exploring the construction of dresses akin to architectural wonders. Compte Spain explored happy endings beyond the romantic, delving into intimate and sensual narratives with form-fitting dresses made out of silk, sequins, and knitwear that look like lace. Martín Across takes inspiration from childhood memories and Andean landscapes, crafting pieces with local materials for curious voyagers.

The Label Edition presents a collection embodying ethical and sustainable practices with premium fabrics, such as denim and corduroy abound again in this collection, as well as golden buttons. Txell Miras explores the transformation of clothing as a metaphor for personal growth, using monochromatic tones and fabric manipulation to convey the process of shedding old identities. Jnorig challenges perceptions of reality in the digital age through a collection that blends 3D and digital elements with physical craftsmanship.

THURSDAY APRIL 11TH

Free Form Style adapts workwear to accommodate individuals in wheelchairs, offering contemporary cuts with a nod to denim culture. Guillermo Justicia experiments with harmony within chaos, exploring volumes, silhouettes, and prints. Lebor Gabala’s collection pays homage to the Highlands with rich colors and traditional patterns, evoking the nomadic soul of the region.

404 Studio draws inspiration from anime and dystopian futures, questioning the impact of technology on identity. Velásquez reflects on the laborious process of gold mining, juxtaposing the allure of gold with the harsh realities of the miners’ lives. Menchen Tomás captures intimate moments of leisure by the poolside, translating them into flowing garments. Dominnico explores marine themes through eclectic designs, incorporating lace, denim, and metallic pieces.

FRIDAY APRIL 12TH

Avec Amour maintains its essence with black and white hues while introducing a broader color palette and fabrics reminiscent of sports uniforms and vintage styles. Biélo’s collection focuses on relaxation with lightweight knits and vibrant palettes inspired by Turkish baths and Korean diving. Ga Gó Ó Studio presents a genderless collection with adaptable garments in natural materials and recycled fibers.

Habey Club’s collection reflects on the constant pursuit of fulfillment, combining textures and embroideries to reinterpret conventional garments. Eñaut invites celebration with its tenth collection special, encouraging us to dance without worry, showcasing black monochromatic pieces of sheer and leather. Custo Barcelona’s collection is a colorful spectacle, offering a wide range of shapes and styles from tight minis to flowing dresses, complemented by two-piece sets and oversized trousers, embodying an advanced and imaginative fashion language.
