Nicolas Ghesquière concludes a decade of innovation and creativity at Louis Vuitton with the unveiling of the Prefall 2024 collection, debuting in Shanghai with a spectacular Voyager show.

Drawing on the legacy of Louis Vuitton’s French heritage, the collection revisits past influences while infusing them with unbridled freedom of tone and form. Vibrant colours and playful motifs pay homage to the tremendous stylistic vitality of China’s youth, enhanced by the collaboration with contemporary artist Sun Yitian, whose charming, figurative bestiary creations adorn the collection’s diverse silhouettes.

The juxtaposition of short and long, classic and contemporary, creates a compelling narrative throughout the collection. In this fast-paced collection, accessories punctuate the narrative, recounting in their own way the innovative saga behind the great trunk-maker. Iconic pieces like the Petite Malle, Twist, OnTheGo, the Diane, the Loop, the Side Trunk, the Atlantis, the Noé, the Cannes, and the Camera Box are reimagined alongside new additions, such as the Slim Trunk, each contributing to the ongoing evolution of Louis Vuitton’s history.

The Long Museum, named for its elongated funnel shape, provides a fitting backdrop for the Prefall 2024 collection, renowned for its extensive collection spanning traditional Chinese art to contemporary masterpieces from around the world, which was founded by husband-and-wife collectors Mr. Liu Yiqian and Ms. Wang Wei. The largest private museum in China, it holds the country’s richest collection, reflecting the diverse cultural landscape embraced by Louis Vuitton’s latest offering.
