Exploring the significations and symbolism of garments in con- structing identity and reality, the_J.L-A.L_ F/W24 Menswear collection delves into the world of corporate absurdity through the precession of simulacra. Representations of archetypes and their assigned uniforms simulate a fictitious headquarters, design iterating through filters of perception, re-interpretation, and reformation. Key elements of uniform are deconstructed and abstracted, examining and amplifying their intricacies, utility, and detail.

Presented in the_J.L-A.L_ F/W24 film, collection themes are explored as uniformed archetypes flow through impossible office interiors and liminal halls, falling deeper into the heart of a placeless architecture. Garments transmute identity, they are the simulacrum forming and driving continuity; the uniform alone engenders meaning.

Striped shirts are wrapped and warped into abstraction, suiting is studded with steel spheres, and in an innovative collaboration with Italian mill Marzotto, fine wool is bonded into a range of three-layer outerwear staples. Crisp cotton overcoats are cut with bellowing silhouettes, workers vests are inflated by integrated cooling systems, and leather bombers are softened in nappa leather and ultralight wadding. This expanded wardrobe offering is cemented with an introduction of an internally developed line of footwear. Wraparound elastic and a geometric cutout offer subtle detail within a sleek silhouette, forming the Perlin Boot. The Tracer Derby takes brand familiar flowing lines, and drapes them around a classic silhouette. Raised channels trace these panels creating a layered and rich surface.

Through bespoke collaboration with Goldwin for F/W24, a jacket and trouser set made in Gore-Tex Pro is paired with a matching jersey crewneck, combining Goldwin’s expertise in construction and performance fabric with _J.L-A.L_’s signature and complex pattern cutting.

The F/W24 collection presents a full wardrobe from _J.L-A.L_in which the literal and ideological simulation of archetypal identity is redetermined in new garments, the iterations of abstraction and reinterpretation of design developing new terrains for the brand and its evolving community. _J.L-A.L_ is manufactured and distributed across select retailers worldwide through Slam Jam.
