AMSTERDAM/BERLIN, January 26th, 2023 // Zalando, one of Europe’s leading online platforms for fashion and lifestyle, and Filling Pieces, an Amsterdam based luxury streetwear brand, launch a genderless and size-inclusive capsule collection, called “You Are Invited”. The two companies have teamed up to offer 15 inspirational fashion items, including Filling Pieces’ iconic sneakers, a genderless corset and heeled boots up to size 46. Filling Pieces is an Amsterdam-based luxury streetwear brand, founded in 2009 by Owner and Creative Director Guilaume Philibert. With its own take on luxury streetwear the brand aims to bridge the gap between cultures and communities. Since its founding, Filling Pieces has built a worldwide community of artists, performers and creatives that use the brand as a way to be loyal to the values of diversity and inclusion. Since 2021, Filling Pieces has been offering its fashion internationally via Zalando’s Fashion Store. [NL version only instead of previous sentence: Filling Pieces has partnered with Zalando since 2021, and a selection of Filling Pieces’ regular collection will now also become available to Zalando’s Dutch customers in February.]

Guillaume Philibert Founder and Creative Director Filling Pieces: “We envision a collection that can be worn by anyone, regardless of how they identify themselves. Therefore we want this collection to be embodied by people that are not afraid of self-expression, that don’t conform with pre-made labels, people that are true to their own identity and that dare to be true to it. This is the space that we want to explore and create with Zalando as our values match.

Megan Maley, General Manager Benelux, UK & Ireland at Zalando says: “Zalando is a company that champions people to be themselves and encourages them to express who they are through fashion. We are therefore thrilled to launch this inclusive collection together with Filling Pieces. With this iconic Dutch luxury streetwear brand, we have created a collection of exciting genderless and size-inclusive fashion items. This collection builds on Zalando’s commitment to offer fashion that makes all of our customers feel respected, included, and represented. Our collaboration with Filling Pieces is also a great example of teaming  up with locally loved  brands, and bringing their collections to Dutch, as well as international customers, across 25 markets in Europe.”

The “You Are Invited” capsule collection consists of 15 pieces: 6 ready-to-wear and 9 handmade footwear styles. This includes iconic Filling Pieces sneakers, loafers and boots in the size range 35-46, a genderless corset, leather trousers and gilet, a knitted half turtleneck and an athletic long sleeve in sizes XS-XXL.

The Zalando x Filling Pieces Capsule Collection will be brought to life in a 360° integrated campaign, also called “You Are Invited”, featuring talents such as Dutch singer and songwriter Sevdaliza, Berlin based multidisciplinary artist and DJ Patrick Mason, Dutch stylist, writer and curator Leendert Sonnevelt and Jean Paul Paula, a Dutch creative director and stylist. Together, they are celebrating freedom of expression through fashion. The campaign claim “You Are Invited” stands for inclusivity and invites everyone to find their own style. The dedicated campaign will run from February 9th until March 6nd, 2023 and will be brought to life across numerous channels. The 360° campaign was created in collaboration with the Creative Agency Hammerfest, directed by Basha de Bruijn. The stylist of the campaign is Leendert Sonnevelt. Zalando also launches the Zalando x Filling Pieces Capsule Collection with a zPlus Early Access campaign giving Plus customers exclusive access to 3 collection pieces starting from February 3rd.

The inclusive collection with Filling Pieces is an example of how Zalando aims to inspire and represent the diversity of our customers. Other recent initiatives include the introduction of Adaptive Fashion collections and the expansion of Black-owned brands on the Zalando platform.
