Wiwek Mahabali aka Wiwek marks his debut on Axtone with a full-throttle assault on the senses, delivering a 3 track EP of the signature sounds & rhythms that have made Wiwek one of the standout producers of the past decade in his self-styled genre, Jungle Terror.

Time Machine Drums EP comprises the triple threat of 'Follow Me', 'Oolala', and 'Victory Dance' all pushing production sonics to the limits and each a welcome arrival to the slowly opening to a world of festival stages.

‘I am really fond of implementing traditional percussions in a modern musical setting. With the electronic possibilities we have now, you can fuse everything you want. One thing I've always been amazed by is the energy of traditional percussion and how those rhythms and sounds make people move. With this EP I wanted to recreate this with the sonic power of electronic music. Putting the drums in a time machine.’ – Wiwek

Axwell fans will know Wiwek’s Gregor Salto collaboration ‘On Your Mark’ that has been a mainstay in the bossman’s sets for many years. [might be an idea to add a sentence why Axtone is releasing this EP, to add more vision/perspective from the label]

In 2016 OWSLA released his EP The Free and Rebellious, which not only included a collaboration between Wiwek & Skrillex (“Killa”) but also served as the soundtrack to a short film called Still in the Cage that the pair co-produced.

Most recently releasing his ‘Periphery’ single on W&W’s Rave Culture, Wiwek is now on his fourth volume of Jungle Terror for BARONG Family whilst he also collaborated with Marshmello on Angklung life that featured on Joytime III. Not to forget, he also releases music via his own label Maha Vana. Which he started back in 2012, just to be able to release any music because nobody wanted to sign his crazy sound. Nowadays it’s a safe haven for him and others to create without boundaries or restrictions.

Wiwek ‘Time Machine Drums’ EP is out today through Axtone.
