VIVIENNE WESTWOOD PRESENTS THE NEW BRIDAL COLLECTIONS 2023

Vivienne Westwood opens a dedicated Espace Collection Mariage in the heart of Paris, offering bridal collections for the first time in France, in a private salon housed within the brands Maison at 175 Rue Saint-Honoré.

Launched over Paris Haute Couture Week, with a presentation of the bridal and couture collections, the dedicated bridal salon follows the design concept of the flagship boutique – creating a minimalist space designed to complement and contrast the feminine corsetry and opulent bridal collections, synonymous with the house. The contemporary space is softened with natural calico drapes, which swathe the salon, creating dedicated dressing areas and a private bridal suite.

The Made-to-Order bridal collection will be available in Paris for the first time at the new Espace Collection Mariage. The new collection takes inspiration from the night sky – the shapes, colours and explosions of the cosmos. Sweeping necklines and distinct drapery define the collection. Ethereal trains, capes and long-line boleros orbit silhouettes, and textures of rich satin, paillettes and crystal embellishments give the collection an iridescent luminosity.

The collection has been designed with a transformative approach; the Galaxy Cape, a strapless corseted crepe satin gown features a removable Watteau cape in transparent georgette, the Comet mini-dress offers an asymmetric cascading train, which can be bustled up or worn over the shoulders and belted at the waist, and the Luna, with a voluminous silhouette, ruffled asymmetric neckline and removeable lower skirt, is cut from a no-waste pattern.

Lower-impact fabric options include tulle, sequins, lace and taffeta, certified as recycled and an FSC-certified viscose and acetate crepe satin, georgette and stretch satin. The collection is designed, sampled and hand-crafted locally in England.
