Villa Igiea, Rocco Forte Hotels’ turn-of-the-century Palazzo, is welcoming its visitors for an enticing Sicilian summer season. Located in the beautiful Palermo region, the Villa Igiea offers mediaeval excursions and lessons in Sicilian art de vivre.

From March to May 2024, the Ristorante Florio will host three experimental workshops encouraging participants to engage in the hands-on practice of local crafts, guided by esteemed artisans. Three events include: The art of Sicilian embroidery with Manima World on the 10th of March; precious ceramics lab with Nicolò Giuliano on the 14th of April; papier-mâché art lab with Paola Barbasso on the 5th of May.

Guests of Villa Igiea can embrace authentic Sicilian Easter traditions with a special program kicking off on Maundy Thursday with the exploration of Palermo’s most evocative places of worship and a treasure hunt in the garden for little ones.  The program includes an excursion to a medieval village, where residents parade in costumes depicting the triumph of good and guests sit down to enjoy a splendid Easter lunch by the sea.

For those interested in contemporary art, two photographic exhibitions at Villa Igiea , give guests the chance to explore undiscovered Palermo: The photographs of Palermitan artist Maria Lannino, capturing the true essence of her city in a game of contrasts from the 14th of March. And starting May 4th, “Nonostante Ballarò” “Despite Ballarò” by Francesco Bellina and Antonio Marras will be available at the villa. The artwork portrays the life of the Ballarò district, looking at fashion through a photojournalistic narrative.

The Igiea Terrazza Bar, a one-of-a-kind address for mixology lovers, unveils a roster of exclusive workshops guided by Salvatore Calabrese, creator of the iconic bar menu. The Maestro will be teaming up with international mixology stars and acclaimed bars, delighting attendees with all-new drinks lists for the occasion:

  • Thursday 28 March: Yasutaka Nakamori, from Bar Doras in Tokyo
  • Monday 17th June: Patrick Pistolesi, from Drink Kong in Roma
