More than 1 million T-shirts have been sold to date, with more than JPY 300 million donated to UNHCR, Save the Children, and Plan International.

Global clothing retailer UNIQLO today announces the global release of five new T-shirts for the ongoing charity project, PEACE FOR ALL. The latest collection features new graphics specially designed for this project by contributors including tennis legend Roger Federer and artwork from the creator of Miffy, the late Dick Bruna.

Since the project’s launch in June 2022, a total of more than 1 million PEACE FOR ALL T-shirts have been sold worldwide. 100% of the profits from the sale of these T-shirts are donated to international aid organizations helping people affected by poverty, discrimination, violence, and conflict around the world, including UNHCR (the UN refugee agency), Save the Children, and Plan International. As part of the project, more than JPY 300 million* has been donated to date.

(*Or more than US$2.4 million when calculated based on the exchange rate of $1=132.96 yen as of April 3, 2023)

Activities supported by PEACE FOR ALL donations include self-reliance projects for female Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, educational support for displaced Syrian children and vulnerable Lebanese children in northern Lebanon, and a campaign to eliminate child and forced marriages in Vietnam.

Roger Federer (Professional Tennis Player)

For over 25 years, I have considered myself very lucky to explore the world while participating in a sport I love. Tennis and peace both start with “Love,” and I hope that this simple design can also remind everyone of how important it is to respect each other.

Dick Bruna (Picture Book Author, Graphic Designer)

Dick Bruna has always cherished and supported the idea that the more the slogan “WORLD PEACE IS POSSIBLE” is embraced worldwide and the more people are convinced of that possibility, the more realistic the goal of achieving world peace will become. Here we join with the PEACE FOR ALL project, which takes action from a desire for peace, and together with Nijntje, we sincerely hope that all people on this earth can live in peace.

Cristina de Middel (Magnum Photos’ President)

I use a lot of symbolism in my work and wanted to create an image that meant “right to peace” and what fighting for peace entails. Both the fist and the dove are symbols for each of these concepts, so I tried to merge them together. The photo could have been taken anywhere in the city of Salvador de Bahia, where there are always those beautiful clouds.

Jean-Michel Basquiat (Artist) & Christopher Makos (Photographer)

Jean-Michel Basquiat and Christopher Makos placed Basquiat with the world globe, exactly as adjusted, to emphasize that Basquiat’s inspiration and influence were global.

Akamai Technologies (Cloud Company)

Every day, billions of people connect online to work, play, learn, shop, and exchange ideas. They may not know it, but Akamai is there to power and protect their online lives. For 25 years, Akamai has been scaling and securing the internet to improve the lives of billions of people billions of times a day. The “texture” code in this design represents the shared language behind the many digital experiences that connect us all. It’s a language that unites Akamai with the world’s best brands and the people they serve as we work together toward a vision of a safer and more connected world.
