Teddy Santis Releases First Season Collection as Creative Director for New Balance Made in USA

Teddy Santis, founder and creative director of NYC clothing and lifestyle brand Aimé Leon Dore (ALD), has released his first seasonal collection as creative director for New Balance MADE in USA. As part of the “Made in USA” collection – and in honor of 2022 marking the 40th anniversary of the iconic 990 silhouette – Santis designed seasonal, limited edition models of the 990v1, 990v2, and 990v3 that launched in April.

In addition to the seasonal models of the 990v1, 990v2, and 990v3, the collection will also feature classic American sportswear. With a keen eye for craftsmanship, Santis designed a variety of sweatshirtssweatpantsshortslong sleeves and T-shirts.

Santis has made a name for itself by creating products with a New York sensibility. He is also highly regarded for his deep commitment to authentic storytelling, which is a common thread running through his work with New Balance. Santis’ vision for MADE is focused on designs that emphasise New Balance’s history, heritage and craftsmanship through product, materials and use of color. Using that story as the overarching inspiration, Santis has divided the collection into three distinct categories; Elevated legacy – celebrating the brand’s foundational classic colors in premium finishes, Uniform staple – easy-to-wear colors that become everyday wardrobe mainstays, Quickstrike – innovative colors and materials that give a unique take on key models.

“As a brand, New Balance has always been drawn to non-traditional and independent creators , which is what makes Teddy such a perfect fit for New Balance MADE in the USA,” said Chris Davis, Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President of Merchandising at New balance. Not only does he have an incredibly authentic and passionate connection to New Balance, but he is uniquely positioned to help preserve the history of MADE, which is the foundation of the brand, while guiding its evolution through his unique design sensibility. “

The collection is available from 26 MAY on newbalance.com
