2023 sees the return of De Zomernacht for De School’s Summer months. Welcoming International DJs and local regulars into the club, with exciting weekly line up announcements throughout July and August. This time around, De School will also be co-curating nights with organisations, collectives and labels from both local and international grounds including Disturbia, Maricas and One Eye Witness. Also on the billing is a summer edition of Het Weekend as well as a full art programme, seasonal menu at Restaurant DS and a thriving Cafe terrace with barbecues and more, for these hot months.

Returning concept, De Zomernacht, will keep Amsterdam on its toes, revealing the line ups on a weekly basis. Expect exciting new names and returning favourites, (aiming) to be announced every Tuesday. Along with co-curations from some established Amsterdam (and beyond) collectives and institutions, get ready for a fresh line up to soundtrack your summer. Plus a summer edition of Het Weekend, making use of the flourishing De Binnentuin. More details to follow.

De School’s art programme promises to be fresh and unexpected: artist in residence Yeon Bun will be unfolding works in drawing and paint, throughout DS, while we look back with theatre makers and dancers Nita Liem & Bart Deuss at their Living Archive. Plus unveiling a special visual project from Jean-Vincent Simonet during his one week residency: photos chemically manipulated over the June weekender, leaving a visceral imprint from the atmosphere created during nightlife.

The interdisciplinary building is welcoming in Summer beyond the club: Restaurant DS’s set menu is utilising their open fire brick barbecue and summery foraged produce including pickled chervil, marigold and nasturtium with tables available on the sun soaked terrace. Plus, expect music, barbecues and cocktails on tap from the Cafe terrace, most weekends.

Some returning concepts that have become familiar since reopening last year, including LOCH INN, De Muziekkring, lectures and talks, will be pausing for these months but will be back after the summer.
