Overlooking Marina Port Vell, where La Rambla meets the sea, Soho House Barcelona is close to the tapas joints and bodegas of El Born.

Soho House Barcelona islocated in the Gothic Quarter, in a striking 18th-century building in the historic Plaça del Duc de Medinaceli, overlooking Marina Port Vell. The House has 56 bedrooms, members’ space, a roof terrace, Cowshed spa, a gym and two pools.

The design of the House, led by Nick Jones and Soho House Design, takes inspiration from classic Catalan design and gothic architecture. It features warm, Mediterranean colours and traditional Spanish patterned textiles. Furnishings throughout the House are a mix of mid-century European pieces with local antiques and custom-made designs from the Soho House team.

The rooftop has a pool with views of the sea and the city. There are striped sunloungers, and a bar and lounge seating area where food is served from breakfast through to dinner.

On the fifth floor is the Square Bar and House Kitchen, a members’ space to eat, drink, meet, socialise and relax. Open all day until late, there is a lounge area and a bar with outdoor seating. The menu is inspired by the Mediterranean, with locally sourced ingredients. The club serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and late-night drinks. There is also a dedicated space for member events looking out over Marina Port Vell.

The 56 bedrooms on the floors below have a modern but rustic look, each with one-off furniture and artwork. Bathrooms are light and simple, with local tiles and vintage bronze fittings, rainforest showers and Cowshed products.

The gym, open to members and guests, has a workout studio, House Ride classes, a yoga studio, a steam room, laundry facilities, and a House Press juice bar. A 36-seat screening room has velvet upholstered armchairs and footstools. It screens prereleased and independent movies every day for members.  The Green Room in the lower lobby is aspeakeasy open from Thursday to Sunday, 10pm to 3am, and can be used for parties and cocktails.

The Cowshed spa, located in the lower lobby, is available to both members and non-members. The design is based on a traditional Spanish pharmacy and has four treatment rooms, four mani-pedi stations, and an indoor pool.
