QUIRA LAUNCHES SPRING SUMMER COLLECTION
In freehand writing, the Quira lexicon continues expanding with new possibilities and nuances.
Keeping the editing tight and the spirit instinctive while focusing on the idea of the item as a future collectible meant to entice personal interpretations, this season the collection focuses on the body, and explores notions of the liquid and the languid. The stress is on draping, bows and outsized neckerchief panels, deftly integrated into the construction of items to allow further playfulness. True to the Quira signature, the expression is taut.
The repertoire includes collarless coats, neat graphic coats, blazers with high buttoning, striped and textured coats, shoulderless double breasted blazers, liquid blouses and shirtdresses, draped tunics, ribbed dresses, shoulderless dresses, wide pants, cropped pants. Sheer jumpers and vests trigger superimposition and layerings that reveal the forms instead of covering them.
The choice of materials expands too, with the rather familiar crisp tailoring wools, technical cotton twills, technical cotton gabardines, cotton poplins and textured linens welcoming crinkled silk duchesse, chalkedcrinkled linen, polka dot jacquard cupro, stone washed crepe de chine, washed silk poplin, cotton jersey. Thick fluid viscose, basketweave bonded linen and soft guanteria nappa provide both firmness and lightness.
Knitwear adds fluidity and shimmer: iridescent compact lurex, stretch matt viscose, extra light and liquid rib, nylon catenella. Chunky cottons, mouline cottons and open chunky cottons have body and ease.
The palette juxtaposes neutral tones of optic white, off white, seedpearl and light khaki with pale notes ofbanana, rosewood and baby blue, earthy hues of vetiver and dark olive, all of it accented with dissonant flashes of poppy, cedar and açai.
Accessories, too, face off the familiar with the unexpected: sturdy monochrome boots, barely-there openweave sandals with geometric heels, rounded shoulderbags, small brick-like handbags and oversized toteseither in raffia or leather.
A vision of thoughtful physicality takes shape.
