Making its debut at the Fall/Winter 2022 Prada Womenswear show by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, this bomber jacket reflects Prada’s commitment to sustainability and is made of Re-Nylon.

The bomber comes in two versions. The Embroidered Quilted version, embellished with flowers of different dimensions adding a romantic touch, with the color choice of Black or Forest Green, or the Hooded Embroidered version adorned with feathers, in Blue. Both models quilted and completed with a fabric belt, and decorated with the iconic enameled metal triangle logo placed on a small pocket on the sleeve.

The most interesting aspect of these outwear pieces is that they are made of sustainable fabric. Re-Nylon is an innovative fabric entirely crafted from regenerated nylon created through the recycling and purification of plastic collected from oceans, fishing nets, landfills and textile fibre waste globally. Through a process of depolymerization, purification and then transformation into new polymers and then threads, this material can be recuperated and made into new nylon fabric. The choice of the ECONYL® yarn actively contributes to the reduction of global warming by up to 90% compared to the use of virgin nylon yarn.

Re-Nylon is the next step in fabric technology and sustainable luxury – a textile that can be endlessly regenerated without loss of quality, a true cyclical luxury.

“Colliding traditions in unexpected manners, an inversion and challenge of materials, of embroideries, and of garments, agitate and disturb. Conventionally masculine pieces are transformed, interrupted with the feminine: coats are carved out at the neck or back. The architecture of clothes affect their rapport with the body.” — words from the FW 22 Prada show

The Prada Re-Nylon Bomber Jackets are the big trend of the season with their sustainable fabric, oversized silhouette and beautiful feathers and floral embroideries.
