The legendary Sónar weekend, consisting of the Sónar Festival and OFFSónar, returns to Barcelona from June 16th to 19th. The arts, design and electronic and experimental music event was originally founded in Barcelona and now hosts festivals around the world such as in Lisbon, Buenos Aires and Hong Kong. Now the massive event, taking place at various locations across the city of Barcelona, will come together again and showcase the work from the most relevant minds from creativity, technology and business.

We will be present at this year’s edition and these are our top picks for Sónar Festival:

Arca – Saturday 18, 23:25 – 0:25

Club music and experimental noise

Sega Bodega – Thursday 16, 16:30 – 17:30

Pop hooks mixed with experimental electronica

Herrensauna XXL – Friday 17, 0:00 – 6:00

Berlin’s queer utopia – spiked industrial and studded electro

Charlotte de Witte – Saturday 18, 2:50 – 4:30

Lean, deep, acid-flecked techno

Headie One – Friday 17, 0:50 – 1:20

UK drill’s greatest storyteller

And here our favorites for OFFSónar:

Exhale by Amelie Lens – June 16, 16:00 – 1:00

Drumcode – June 18, 16:00 – 1:00

Additionally, we highly recommend the Quayola: ‘Transient’ Installation’ by Italian audiovisual experimenting artist Davide Quayola presented at Barcelona’s avant-garde Hotel Me by Meliá. The exhibition will converge classical minimalism and impressionism with experimental electronica and techno music. Dive into this totally immersive environment without any limits.
