Founded by Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro, and Meir Teper, Nobu Hospitality is one of the most recognisable lifestyle brands, and now, Marrakech welcomes their latest outpost. The debut hotel in Africa, highlights include the Nobu Restaurant and Bar and an impressive party rooftop that dons panoramic views, a pool that traces glamorous cabanas as well as Japanese and local F&B options.

Located in the Golden Triangle of the Hivernage district, Nobu Hotel is conveniently located, just a short walk from the vibrant Djemaa el-Fna with its array of stalls and entertainment (cue snake charming), and the busy souks that lead off the square.

The 5-star hotel is an all-suite property, and there are 71 of them to be precise. The interiors take inspiration from the building and its locale and have merged this with Nobu’s contemporary Japanese style for which it is known. Expect an array of local artwork, incorporating the heritage of Morocco while nodding to the country’s artisans and craftsmen.

The suites span three floors, each exuding the Japanese concept of Kokoro, which directly translates to “heart, mind, spirit”, further paying homage to Marrakesh. Here, there are 44 Junior Suites, 6 Deluxe Junior Suites, 18 Deluxe One Bedroom Suites, 2 Miyabi Suites and 1 Nobu Suite, and each one offers views of the Atlas Mountain range or Marrakech’s largest mosque, Koutoubia Mosque.

Of course, a major draw of any Nobu site is the cuisine – it’s a dining destination after all, and this Nobu Restaurant and Bar has its very own private entrance, DJ deck and poolside terrace. On the menu there are the beloved Nobu signature dishes including the ultra-delicious Black Cod Miso and Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno and these are served alongside brand new dishes created by Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, using locally sourced flavours and ingredients.

For a real highlight head to the roof and it will not disappoint. Centred around a statement circular pool, there are incredible 360 views of the city — old city walls surrounding the Medina district and then onto the Atlas Mountains. There’s also a Nobu sushi bar, a daily selection of seasonal Moroccan and Mediterranean dishes, and why not wash it down with cocktails (alcoholic and non-alcoholic options are available).

Calling all spa and wellness lovers, the Nobu Hotel Marrakech is home to of the most expansive spas at any Nobu Hotel worldwide, and so, cue the Pearl Spa. Set over 2000 sqm, it’s a real oasis away from the busy little streets of the souks. Here there’s something for everyone as the spa is comprised of relaxation areas, a heated indoor swimming pool, hammams, jacuzzis, steam baths and saunas as well as a VIP Spa Suite and a gym alongside a Beauty and Hair Salon.
