Netflix launches the trailer for the new Australian series Heartbreak High. The remake of the popular drama series from the 1990s consists of eight episodes and will be released on September 14.

A revelation at Hartley High causes Amerie to be suddenly left out and causes a mysterious and open rift between her and her best friend, Harper. With help from her new friends – misfits Quinni and Darren – Amerie does everything she can to restore her reputation while simultaneously trying to find her way in the world of love, sex and heartbreak

The cast of Heartbreak High includes Ayesha Madon, James Majoos, Chloe Hayden, Asher Yasbincek, Thomas Weatherall, Josh Heuston, Will McDonald, Gemma Chua-Tran, Rachel House, Chika Ikogwe, Sherry-Lee Watson, Bryn Chapman Parish and Brodie Townsend. The series is produced by Dutch producers NewBe (Misfit) and Fremantle Australia.

The original series has seven seasons and was a big hit in more than 70 countries, including the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, Argentina, Mexico, India, Indonesia and the Netherlands.
