The Montblanc Great Characters Muhammad Ali™ Collection features three distinct editions:

Montblanc Great Characters Muhammad Ali™ Special Edition

This edition symbolizes Ali’s boxing achievements. The engraved lines on the cone represent the four ropes of a boxing ring, and the cap resembles a punchbag. The matte black precious resin barrel’s texture evokes the hand wraps worn by boxers. The clip, inspired by Ali’s title belt, is skeletonized and inscribed with ‘ALI,’ while a laurel wreath signifies his triumphant victories. The handcrafted solid Au 585 gold nib pays homage to Ali’s boxing gloves.

Montblanc Great Characters Muhammad Ali™ Limited Edition 1942

This edition is limited in number to honor the year of Ali’s birth. It features a yellow gold-coated bandage design, green lacquered lines representing the boxing ring ropes, and a cap with a white and black lacquer pattern inspired by Ali’s coat during the ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ fight. The cap ring depicts Ali’s victory pose and the inscription ‘KO-W 8 (15).’ A Montblanc emblem with the number ‘2’ commemorates his second world title.

Montblanc Great Characters Muhammad Ali™ Limited Edition 98

This edition showcases a pair of hanging boxing gloves on the cap, hand-engraved in solid Au 750 gold. The cap is shaped like a punchbag, and blue guilloche lacquering mimics bandages. Limited to 98 fountain pens, it signifies Ali being named a “Messenger of Peace” by the United Nations in 1998. The cap features a hand-engraved solid Au 750 gold inlay of a dove, symbolizing his commitment to peace. Six principles Ali lived by are engraved on the gold forepart. The solid Au 750 yellow gold nib displays a portrait of Ali surrounded by six stars.

The collection also includes a Notebook #146 in Saffiano leather with Muhammad Ali’s silhouette, as well as a special edition ink in green. Montblanc’s craftsmanship and design pay tribute to a champion who not only excelled in the boxing ring but also devoted himself to helping others and advocating for his beliefs.
