The Marine affirms its sporty elegance. From case to bracelet, the Breguet watches  Marine 5517, Marine Chronographe 5527, and Marine Alarme Musicale 5547 feature  a titanium design.

The three titanium models in the Marine collection are now available with bracelets of the  same material, adding robust and light properties to this collection. Breguet pairs the titanium  with a sunburst slate-gray dial in gold. The sobriety of these shades of gray underlines the  contemporary design of the Marine.

Many details of the collection have been inspired by the seafaring world, recalling the title of  Chronometer-maker to the French Royal Navy bestowed upon Abraham-Louis Breguet in  1815. In its continuous quest for reliability, the House of Breguet uses self-winding  manufacture calibers precision-tested in six different positions. The Marine 5517 with date  display beats to the rhythm of the 777A caliber, the Marine Chronographe 5527 comes with  a 582QA caliber, while the Marine Alarme Musicale 5547 incorporates the 519F caliber, and  includes an alarm function, a display for a second time zone, and the date.

MARINE DAME 9517 AND MARINE DAME 9518

The House of Breguet also offers the Marine in steel and inlaid steel. The dials of these  models are done in natural opaline mother-of-pearl or marbled blue lacquer, animated by  clearer volutes reminiscent of the white-horses of the sea – or a starlit night sky, which was  used for navigation in former times. To achieve this decor, the artisan applies a clear lacquer  on the still liquid azure material. When they come into contact, the colors marbleize and  create a unique image, thus rendering each piece exclusive. Visible by the sapphire-crystal  caseback, the rotor bears the engine-turned marea motif in mother-of-pearl – in azure or  white, depending on the shade of the dial. The bezel of the inlaid-steel variant is enlivened  by 60 brilliant-cut diamonds.

As early as in the 18th century, Abraham-Louis Breguet created watches for daring  women. Today, dedicated to the modern adventurer, the Marine by Breguet evokes  an exhilarating sense of adventure at sea.

BREGUET MARINE 5517

In 2017, Breguet gave a new face to its Marine line through a revamped aesthetic style, combining a sense of modernity and dynamism: an original bracelet lug, reworked fluting, as well as a crown surrounded by a wave decor and adorned with a wider “B.”

Symbolising this new generation, the Marine 5517 displays the date at 3 o’clock, housed in an hours chapter with Roman numerals. The latter are coated with a luminescent material, as are the minutes markings and the Breguet hands. The maritime world is evoked by the seconds hand bearing a “B” in a reinterpreted version of the corresponding maritime signal flag.

Breguet is offering several variations for its Marine 5517 – in white gold, rose gold and titanium. The latter material was chosen for its remarkable properties as well as its resistance to both salty air and corrosion. It is also a light and particularly robust material. The titanium version features a sunburst slate grey dial. The faces of the white gold and rose gold models both bear an engine-tuned “wave” motif that leaves no doubt as to the collection they are joining. The maritime spirit of this self-winding model continues on the back with a singular oscillating weight featuring a design inspired by a ship’s rudder. The movement visible through the sapphire crystal caseback is engine-turned and reminiscent of boat decks. For each of these timepieces, Breguet offers various strap options. Depending on the model, a brown or blue leather strap is available, while devotees of a more sporty style can choose a rubber version.
