LUISA SPAGNOLI SS23 COLLECTION PRESENTED AT MUSEO DELLA PERMANENTE IN MILAN
Chasing sunsets enjoying painterly seas, Luisa Spagnoli’s women are the embodiment of polished flair and refined exuberance.
For her Spring/Summer 2023 collection, the designer and entrepreneur has her feminine and free – spirited muses travel hip resort destinations, be they Capri, Saint Tropez, Biarritz or Ipanema.
The joy of summer gateways echoes in the popsicle – inspired palette of aquamarine blue, zingy orange, ruby red and forest green, while umbrellas dotting sandy beaches offer a template for party – ready maxi – striped numbers.
For the show as part of Milan Fashion Week, Luisa Spagnoli tinges the Museo della Permanente venue in a precise pink nuance , the cotton candy tone adorning the brand’s Luisa boxes, and has her young – at – heart ladies indulge in a never – ending summer dream.
Punctuated by flounces and fringes and puffy sleeves, the collection is a hymn to sophisticated youthfulness and a celebration of Luisa Spagnoli’s signature artisanship and know – how, best telegraphed in the skilled manipulation of precious fabrics and silhouettes.
Separate sets of knitted crop tops in flashy orange, deep turquoise and fuchsia paired with miniskirts and matching shawls, all trimmed in playful fringes, epitomize the collection’s free – spirited attitude.
A feast for the eye, stripes are under the magnifying glass gracing ruffled maxi skirts paired with demure shirts and nonchalant A – line frocks done in charmingly offbeat color combinations. A sexy and frisky vibe resonates in body – hugging leotards, occasionally underpinning deconstructed linen blazers.
Ruffled maxi skirts with cropped tops, as well as dresses with off – shouldered puffy sleeves and hourglass – y strapless gowns are crafted from linen and enriched with meander embroideries exalting the richness of the fabric’s tactile feel, while perfectly tailored linen pantsuits trade blazers for cool shrunken vests.
The color – blocked, graphic ensembles yield to romantic flourishes in raffia floral embroideries on vests, miniskirts, off – shouldered bomber jackets and shorts, while sandy – toned lurex threads add to the dreamy summer theme with shirtdresses and flowing options exquisitely knitted to create stripe – evoking light and shadows.
As the sun fades, silk shantung shirtdresses and the recurring off – the – shoulder, puffy – sleeved gown style are dotted in crystal and rhinestone embroideries framing the bosom and neckline and adding to the refined charm of the dramatic silhouettes.
Shielding Luisa Spagnoli’s women away in their off – duty days, crocheted raffia bucket hats topping most of the looks counterpoint the joyous collection adding a dash of mysterious sensuality. Resort – ready strappy flat and high – heeled sandals bearing a minimal golden buckle complement the summery lineup in which bucket bags come in striped and colorful leather and raffia clutches have colored edges.
