LOUS AND THE YAKUZA TOURING IN THE CUSTOM MADE LOUIS VUITTON

Lous and the Yakuza, currently on tour for her most recent album, Iota, asked Louis Vuitton to create her stage costumes. Her onstage self-expression draws inspiration from her passion for Japanese culture and the manga she reads, which she often shares on her Instagram account.

Somewhere between cosplay and Japanese college girl uniforms, her outfits are made up of a selection of very short or asymmetrical kilts paired with crop tops and cropped jackets. Nicolas Ghesquière, Louis Vuitton’s Artistic Director of Women’s Collections, brought in subtle nods to his previous collections, such as this Fall-Winter 2020  vest and these gigot sleeves that previously appeared on the  Fall-Winter 2015 catwalk. The outfits are made  from Louis Vuitton’s innovative Japanese gabardine that appeared during Nicolas Ghesquière’s very first show for the Maison in 2014.
