American model, Paloma Elsesser and Luar designer, Raul Lopez, wore custom Luar looks embellished with Swarovski crystals to the MET Gala. The dazzling looks feature more than 50,000 crystal pearls, pendants, and beads in various shades of blacks and blues to create the illusion of midnight. Paloma Elsesser accented her look with Swarovski jewelry.

Raul sought inspiration from the 90s Chanel Couture show, when Karl Lagerfeld explored more avant-garde silhouettes. The team researched moments that felt aligned with Luar’s extreme proportions and geometric silhouettes, while maintaining the highest level of craftsmanship through construction and embroidery. This dress introduces the world to Luar Couture, made by the most skilled hands in NYC.

American actresses, Rachel Brosnahan and Keke Palmer wore custom Sergio Hudson gowns embellished with Swarovski crystals. Brosnahan’s long sleeved column gown features a sheer bodice and embellishment at the bust hand embroidered with 4,000 Swarovski crystals. Palmer’s gown was constructed using a custom made, multi color pastel tweed and embellished with over 12,000 Swarovski crystals and pearls. The opera coat is made of silk faille and silk taffeta.

“My inspiration came from Karl Lagerfeld’s work at Patou and Balmain mixed with his work from Chanel in the early 90s, so it’s a mashup of his late 50s and early 90s work. I really wanted to use tweed and ended up creating my own for the gown. I then wanted to encrusted the gown with crystals and pearls to add an extra texture, so of course Swarovski came to mind. When I saw their Ignite collection I knew it would add the perfect touch to complete the look,” Sergio Hudson noted regarding Keke Palmer’s look.

American personality, Paris Hilton wore a Marc Jacobs gown embellished with Swarovski crystals.
