Today, GRAMMY award-winning singer-songwriter Jess Glynne releases her new album JESS (stream now)!

The pop star’s third album, six years in the making, is a proud piece of work, representative of where Jess has evolved to musically and in life since the release of her last body of work. Written between London and LA, the 15-track self-titled album is penned with a deep sense of empowerment through Jess’ intimate song-writing style, collaborating with producers including Knox Brown, Greg Kurstin, Malay, and P2J.

Taking time to re-discover who she was and what she wanted to put out to the world, she wrote her reflective soulful ballad Silly Me with a strong self-empowerment sentiment that would steer the sound, the vocal and the lyrical themes of the album.

The album’s title track ‘Easy’, a quintessential pop anthem, perfectly connects Jess with where she’s come from, to where she is now. The entire album is full of vulnerability, empowerment, and self-acknowledgement, the purpose, Jess says, is to make you feel something; to be able to relate and connect.

Speaking about the album, Jess Glynne said: “If I was to summarise this album, firstly I would say that this album is unapologetically me, which is why I had to call it JESS. It’s about moving on. I’ve finally given myself the permission to be empowered by my vulnerability, honesty, sexuality and strength, and channel it all through my superpower, my voice.”

“The journey of making this album made me realise why I love music. Revisiting and listening to music from artists like Amy Winehouse, Joni Mitchell, Lauryn Hill, and Prince really inspired me to be the best version of myself in my craft, to really challenge myself to be raw and honest with my lyrics and in my writing for it to feel genuine.”

“To have been given so much freedom creatively, has set no boundaries and allowed me to be me. This makes JESS the album I truly wanted it to be.

“Acknowledging the journey I’ve been on in my life, the ups and downs and the journey of becoming the person I am now; I think we should all be less hard on ourselves.”

“I’ve very much taken my time and care with the music and lyrics, and it feels quite powerful.”

To coincide with the highly anticipated release of Jess Glynne’s self-titled album JESS, the singer is visiting major cities across the UK for a series of album signings and intimate gigs, kicking off in London Oxford Street’s HMV today.
