IZAKAYA Asian Kitchen & Bar has been one of Amsterdam’s most popular and culinary hotspots. The institution of Japanese gastronomy has grown over the past 10 years at home and abroad and can be found in the Netherlands, Germany and Spain.

IZAKAYA Amsterdam, located in the bustling Pijp district, introduced to the public 10 years ago a concept of Japanese cuisine with South American influences, which proved to be a debut for the Dutch hospitality industry. Openings in Munich (2017) and Ibiza (2017) followed moments later.

Surrounded by the chaos of the Pijp area, IZAKAYA tells a story of new authenticity and extravagantly interprets Japanese culinary traditions in a cuisine that is authentic but never traditional. The traditional “Izakaya” is best explained as a Japanese pub: a cornerstone within Japanese food culture where a diversity of bites are eaten. Dishes are served on small plates, where guests can order (and share) as much as they like. The menu includes fresh sushi, sashimi and a variety of exquisite meat and fish dishes prepared on a traditional Robata grill or Hibachi fire bowl, a charcoal-fired Japanese hot plate.
