Introducing Island Water Scotch & Soda’s new fragrances

A celebration of freedom and adventure, Scotch & Soda launches Island Water, two new fragrances for women and men this summer. Vibrant and uplifting, the scents evoke the feeling of endless summers and escapism. For women, sweet jasmine and coconut are combined with earthy patchouli, and punctuated with blackcurrant. The eclectic mix of floral, woody and sharp fruit notes results in a distinctive fragrance that is feminine and breezy. The men’s edition fuses fresh bergamot and Brazilian mango with warm sandalwood, clary sage, amber wood and musk to create an original fragrance that surprises with its unexpected energy and lightness.

Housed in minimalist bottles that mirror the contemporary mood of the fragrances, the women’s comes with a burnished gold round cap, the men’s with an oversized black stopper – finishes that nod to the brand’s love of playful detail. The perfumes have been created by Firmenich. Philippine Courtière and Amandine Clerc-Marie are the noses behind the women’s fragrance. Hailing from a distinguished family of perfumers, Courtière is an emerging star noted for her bold concoctions with woods and spices, while Clerc-Marie is renowned for her virtuosic way with new and unconventional ingredients. The men’s scent was created by Fabrice Pellegrin. Born in Grasse, the innovative spirit of the world’s perfume capital inspires his unusual blends, which were lauded by the industry when he was crowned Perfumer of the Year 2017. The campaign captures the free spirit of the fragrances, catching the moment a couple spontaneously decide to swim in the sea. Shot in Lanzarote, the infinite clear waters conjure a sense of limitless exploration. Starring rising models Indiah Lavers and Coco Roussel, the images have been taken by Sebastian SabalBruce, whose emotionally driven, cinematic portraits have featured in Vogue Germany, W Magazine and The New York Times’ style magazine, T. The New York-based photographer previously worked with the brand in fall 2019.

Available in 40ml (€39.95) and 90ml (€59.95), Island Water is launching in stores at selected retailers on May 20th and online on May 25th. Island Water joins a family of fragrances: the now iconic Barfly, introduced in 2010, and whose scent first defined Scotch & Soda stores; and Scotch & Soda ‘With Love’, which launched in 2019.
