Hugo Kafumbi was born in Congo, Lubumbashi, in the Katuba neighborhood. He was introduced to singing in the choir of his local church; that’s when he fell in love with music. At the age of 13 he was adopted and relocated to the Czech Republic, where he studied and played football. After being left homeless by his adopted parents, he moved to Vancouver Canada and started pursuing music. In his craft, Hugo shares his life experiences; he aims to uplift those who are down and give them hope. His first album, Katanga allows him to impose himself with songs in English, French and Swahili. When you listen to Hugo Kafumbi, you understand the struggles he has gone through. Hugo is also an international model who has worked with brands like Levi’s, Tommy Hilfiger, and Dior as well as an avid culinary arts enthusiast and world traveler. He is currently working on his second album to be released this summer.
