At home with Allie X

During these times, we had a moment to chat with Allie X about her time during lockdown. Captured by Antonio Eugenio.

Who are you  and what is your profession?

I am someone always striving to find out who I am.  I am a creative. Meaning I like to make things.  I love beauty.  I love honesty.

How do you think Covid-19 will affect the music industry both long-term and short-term?  How do you see the impact of Corona crisis on the general perception of music?

I can't see it not impacting the live industry and how close people stand at concerts.  I think we will see people leaving  major cities with the realization that so much can be done remotely. For me personally, this has really made me pause for thought and made me examine how I fit into the music industry.  It's given me perspective and made me want to change in some key ways. Perhaps it's affected other musicians in the same way.

How do you spend your Quarantine time and are you still able to create while being quarantined?

I started quarantine by trying a whole bunch of new things. Learning how to edit in premiere, making different kinds of at home content, Tik Tok haha.  I've stopped doing all that though and now am fully obsessed with renovating my hallway by myself. I've learned A LOT about home improvement.  I love the creativity, the empowerment, and the manual labour aspects.  It seems to be the perfect thing for me right now.

What is your daily beauty routine like? And what beauty products you cannot go without?

It really varies depending on if I need to show my face publicly or not.  I've been "au naturel" for most of the quarantine especially since I put all my energy into DIY, because I just get covered in sawdust anyway haha. However, I am still very focused on skin and my skin has been really good lately.  Probably because I am so much less stressed and not on a plane every 2 weeks.  My current skin routine includes Yay For Earth skin balm, Retrouve Intensive Moisturizer and priming pads, Noto Facewash and Honey Girls Organic Regenerating Face Serum.

What is the coolest new thing you have learnt since being quarantined and how did you learn it?

How to build stuff like I mentioned before.

Tell us something about yourself that isn't on your resume.

Hmm I don't even have a resume... but something  a lot of people don't know is I LOVE getting a massage.

What's the first place you'd want to go when it's safe again to travel and go out of our homes and why there?

Italy, Amalfi Coast.  Dreaming about that.

What is your favorite painting and has it inspired you for any of your work thus far?

My phone wallpaper is John Singer Sargent's Madame X... for obvious reasons I think haha.

Are you working on any new music and do you have any new releases coming up?

Some remixes!
