Giorgio Armani introduces BLANC KOGANE and NOIR KOGANE, a new refined duo comprising the latest additions to the Armani/Privé Haute Couture Fragrances collection. Respectively crafted in ivory and deep black tones, each flacon is adorned with gold patterns, mirroring the preciousness of Kintsugi pottery and paying tribute to this ancestral Japanese art. Contrasting yet complementary, the two fragrances make a compelling scent pairing. BLANC KOGANGE is a luminous, addictive, and deconstructed musk scent shaped around precious white jasmine notes. NOIR KOGANE, meanwhile, is an earthy and leathery mysterious vetiver fragrance, enhanced by warm and spicy saffron notes.

Since 2004, Giorgio Armani has translated the essence of his Haute Couture collections into unique fragrances with precious, finely crafted ingredients that convey uncompromising perfection. The Armani/Privé Haute Couture Fragrances span four collections of distinctive and refined scents: Les Eaux, La Collection, Les Mille et Une Nuits, and Les Terres Précieuses. BLANC KOGANE and NOIR KOGANE join the collection Les Terres Précieuses collection, evoking the cultures and landscapes that have inspired Giorgio Armani.

A REFINED, ANCESTRAL ART

The fragrance duo pays tribute to the ancestral Japanese art of Kintsugi, whose history can be traced back to the 15th century. Underlining a philosophy of resilience, its craft involves repairing broken ceramics by highlighting their fault lines with real gold powder, transforming an everyday object into a work of art. BLANC KOGANE and NOIR KOGANE’s bottles offer a contemporary interpretation of Kintsugi. In the signature Armani/Privé square shape, the bottles are designed in shades of black and ivory, evocative of pottery’s finish and texture. Each is embellished with an organic-looking gold pattern that recalls the precious repair created in the art of Kintsugi. Each bottle is set with the Armani/Privé square gold plate, with the fragrance’s name in striking black lettering. BLANC KOGANE’s bottle is topped with an ivory-toned lacquered cap, with a smooth, shiny black cap for NOIR KOGANE.

BLANC KOGANE A LUMINOUS, ENVELOPING SCENT

BLANC KOGANE is an addictive, white floral musky fragrance crafted by master perfumer Benoist Lapouza (GIVAUDAN), that puts a twist on a clean, animalic scent by blending it with a white jasmine duo. This enveloping fragrance conjures the pure, delicate scent of bare skin. The scent opens with a bright, captivating note of fresh lemon essence from Italy. Its heart conveys an animalic floral. Its duo of jasmine notes, sustainably sourced in India, blends with solar ylang ylang and fluid lily of the valley accord, creating the scent’s harmonious trail. The base fuses sustainably sourced vetiver essence from Haiti and patchouli essence from Indonesia, which bring a new, woody aspect to the base’s overdose of white musk notes.

Underscoring Giorgio Armani’s exceptional olfactory savoir-faire, BLANC KOGANE is infused with two varieties of hand-picked jasmine, each crafted in an exclusive extraction process. The jasmine super infusion grandiflorum is created by macerating the jasmine extract in alcohol for two months to heighten its most appealing aspects. This results in a note with a fruitier and more floral effect, evoking the scent of a real jasmine flower. The Saumure jasmine grandiflorum is crafted via a novel extraction method, using a volatile solvent to capture the jasmine flowers’ aromatic molecules. This achieves a powerful, richly textured note.

NOIR KOGANE AN EARTHY, MYSTERIOUS SCENT

NOIR KOGANE’s opulent, woody, leathery, spicy fragrance is crafted by perfumer Sophie Labbé (FIRMENICH). It captures an earthy, woody vetiver scent, enhanced by the warmth and spice of saffron notes.

A captivating and fresh elemi opens the fragrance. The scent unfolds into a heart of olibanum essence, surrounded by saffron notes, emphasizing the fragrance’s leathery, bold facet. At the base is the vetiver heart, sustainably sourced in Haiti and fused with patchouli essence from Guatemala. These notes blend with the base’s wood-leather accord, lending
the fragrance’s smoky, woody, and animalic effect and its deep, textured sensation.

Among the fragrance’s ingredients, the vetiver heart has been crafted specifically for Giorgio Armani to create NOIR KOGANE’s distinctive composition. This hand-picked and precious ingredient is extracted using a specific method in which the vetiver roots are distilled for 10 hours near where the plant is harvested to deliver the note’s vibrant olfaction. This vetiver essential oil is then shaped and purified via molecular distillation for a fresher, sparkling vetiver scent that softens its earthier notes.
