GANT COLLABORATES WITH MERCI FOR A POP UP AND A CAPSULE COLLECTION
American sportswear brand GANT is taking over La Civette pop-up space at concept store Merci with an exclusive capsule collection from September 1st to October 8th.Located on 111 Boulevard Beaumarchais, the 50 square meter pop-up space serves as a temporary residence for brands collaborating with Merci. For this collaboration, the interior is designed as a modern interpretation of GANT’s heritage, dating back to college campuses on the East Coast of the US. The furniture and colour palette is a reference to GANT’s Ivy League and American sportswear heritage, which is complemented by nods to the brand’s collegiate roots.
“I’ve been a fan and customer of Merci since the very beginning. I remember popping in there the first time in 2010 and I was impressed– the mix of fashion, decor, kitchenware, and the iconic little red car. All with a very personal touch, and it’s curated but never pretentious, which I love. I stop by every time I’m in Paris”, said Christopher Bastin, GANT Creative Director.
” GANT has inspired the world with its iconic American East Coast style. From the beginning, Merci has lovingly reinvented the Ivy League’s preppy style in its own unique way, combining it with the Parisian lifestyle. Merci represents a genuine art of living as well as Gant does, we are delighted to welcome such a beautiful house to the Merci store Boulevard Beaumarchais.” says Arthur Gerbi, Merci Executive owner.
A selection of key GANT looks from the FW23 collection, such as Oxford shirts, varsity jackets, and ruggers, will be displayed in the space. This will sit alongside a capsule collection made exclusively in collaboration with Merci that will include a limited-edition varsity jacket, one of the iconic American Sportswear wardrobe staples. Visitors will also be able to discover the GANT Relove Shirt Shop, a selection of vintage shirts handpicked by GANT’s Creative Director Christopher Bastin from the brand’s extensive archive exclusively available for sale.
“It’s such a pleasure working with the Merci team, they really understand what GANT is about, and it’s an original way for us to show the Parisians the true rich history of our brand and what we have been up to in terms of rejuvenating GANT the past few years” Christopher continued.
