“My best ideas come to me in the morning. I put my headphones on, turn the music up super loud, get on my bike and cycle to work. Those 15 minutes are completely mine to treasure. My mind is open and my thoughts just flow. This collection is really about that feeling. We called it Joyride because it’s about Copenhagen being the place where our heart is. There’s a feeling about being in the city in summertime that I can’t quite explain, the energy is pulsing, it really gets your beat going. It made us think about the rhythm of our hearts and the beat you see on a hospital monitor. That line is so beautiful – it’s life. We used that life line as a symbol across the collection, wavy lines on collars and hemlines inspired by a heartbeat.

We have a ton of collaborations coming out too: Denim with Levi’s® in natural dyes and upcycling with Barbour and 66°North. I’m a collaboration junkie. I love it when the chemistry works and the ideas are flowing. As an industry we need to start cooperating more if we want to make fashion more responsible. No one brand, no matter how hard they try, can do it alone, we’ve got to work together.” – Ditte Reffstrup, Creative Director, GANNI

Whether cycling to work through Copenhagen or dashing between appointments while listening to music on her old headphones, the daily ride is Ditte Reffstrup’s creative space where she feels the most inspired. The SS23 JOYRIDE collection is dedicated to our city and the Copenhagen #GANNIGirl, the energy and pulse of summer.

The collection brings colour and the party with styles like a lime green chartreuse suit consisting of low-slung belly-baring pants and an ultra-cropped jacket. A body-hugging dress in knitted teal feels like a next-gen bodycon with its shrunken cardigan.

GANNI’s latest collab with Levi’s® revisits the denim icon’s roots with Western-inspired long prairie skirts and shrunken 2.0 peasant blouses. GANNI’s own denim gets stamped with their new butterfly logo. Suiting is sharper this season, jackets and waistlines are more accentuated and come in popping colours. A fluorescent pink power suit screams confidence with slim fitted pants hugging the hips and a cropped jacket.

Shoes and bags are ultra femine this season. Bow-adorned sandals come in shades of pink and green while other dressy options in silver metalic make for an instant night-out favourite. Puffy and soft pillow bags in an array of colours are the perfect plus one.

SS23 brings a feeling of fun, good times and living in the moment like a bra top in emerald green embellished with spiky beads that give plenty of structure and party-vibes.

This season 97% of the ready-to-wear collection consists of responsible styles, meaning at least 50% of the composition is certified organic, lower-impact or recycled. This marks a major milestone on the GANNI’s journey to become the most responsible version of themselves. As part of the brand’s innovation hub ‘Fabrics of the Future’ they will be introducing styles made from textile waste in breakthrough fabric innovation InfinnaTM and shoes made of Vegea, a material made of leftover grape skins from wine production.
