FOR FALL WINTER 23, CHRISTIAN WIJNANTS RETURNS TO PARIS FASHION WEEK WITH AN INTIMATE PRESENTATION
Full of nostalgia for aged architecture and mature tapestries. The collection was shot in an 1899 neo-baroque building, formerly the Grand Hôtel Métropole Antwerp, with a strategic view of the monumental Antwerp-Centraal railway station.
Wijnants referred to ideas of the past reborn into new and self-reflection of his previous work. Comforting feelings of the past are brought into the new age. How can the familiar become new?
Rich jewel tones and jacquard prints are the mainstays of this collection. The palette consists of royal blue, ruby red, sea green emerald, and dark rust, along with neutral hues. Silhouettes focus on comfort, effortless lifestyle with securing details. This season’s highlights include a Jacquard floating on Wijnants’ signature silhouettes like an oversized sweater and matching skirt.
Oversized blankets billow over plush boucle knit sets. Knotted detail adorns the front of a turtleneck sweater dress. Loose tailored suiting is secured with a long knot tie. Elevated tailoring and knitwear are made for effortless everyday wear.
