From January 6th to February 25th independent record store Dizonord will open a pop-up in Le  Marais in collaboration with Courrèges.

Dizonord is a cross-cultural store based in Paris and Marseille which stocks records, books and  vintage objects for all budgets, while archiving and selling rare or ephemeral documents relating to  niche, pop or underground music, and little-known cultural facts. A hybrid retail experience, Dizonord  – or ‘Disquaire de la Zone Nord’- opened its doors in February 2019 in Paris’ 18th arrondissement. The  project is the brainchild of Vincent Privat and Xavier Ehretsmann, who opened the shop with the  keen intention of championing all kinds of music, including «forgotten or little-known sounds». With  thousands of references, the record shop quickly became a mecca for Parisian music lovers. More  than just a record store, Dizonord is a multi-faceted entity where you’ll find K7s, CDs, VHS, books  and fanzines, and a host of other artefacts linked to the music and pop culture of the 90s-2000s. An  ever-evolving platform, it reaches beyond the confines of collecting, involving itself in various cultural  projects for the private and institutional sectors through exhibitions, concerts and events.

Over the course of 7 weeks, this hybrid store will feature a co-curation of objects imagined by  Dizonord and Nicolas Di Felice, Creative Director of Courrèges. In addition to a hand-picked musical  selection focused among others on electronic and experimental music, the store will feature an  eclectic array of printed objects based on the following themes: rave culture and counter culture,  fashion (vintage magazines, original documents), LGBTQIA+ cultures, vintage party flyers, rare books  and original photographic prints.

In celebration of this momentous occasion, the Courrèges House has supported the reissue of  an edition of 200 copies of Julia von Dorpp’s book ‘Ex-Tracts’ regrouping English rave flyers as well as an  exclusive re-edition of ‘Bad Boy Zine’. Among the other of publications are featured iconic books such  as Seana Gavin’s ‘Spiralled’, Vinca Petersen’s ‘No System’ & ‘Future Fantasy’ and Gabber Eleganza’s  ‘Archivio’. A selection of underground, cross-cultural magazines expand on the project’s polyphonous  ambitions, including ‘Feu’, ‘Viscose’, ‘Trou Noir’ and a long-spanning collection of ‘Double Magazine’  back issues.

A true music lover at heart, Courrèges’ creative director Nicolas Di Felice infuses this ephemeral  collaboration with the multifaceted heritage of his native Belgium. Growing up amidst the booming  culture of Belgium’s 90’s-2000’s rave scene, he was witness to the emergence of Breakbeat, EDM,  Acid House and techno, and the diverse voices that carried its legacy into the world. An avid collector  and promoter of the scene’s hedonistic and collective philosophy, Di Felice expresses within this  project the key cultural cues he has woven into the Courrèges narrative since his appointment in  2020. Beyond fashion, his work aspires to unite a creative family around the Courrèges world that  might, in turn, lead his vision towards the future.

A reflection of his personal approach to image-making, the store will showcase a curation of  photographic prints by long-standing House collaborators Spyros Rennt and Cha Gonzalez, whose  raw, intimate shots detail the motions of nightlife and confidential expressions of queer identity.
