Fresh from making waves around the world with his debut single, Copenhagen born/LA based artist ENIS just released his second single „If I want to” via his own label ENISRECORDS.

The track is an empowering ode to believing in yourself and finding the strength to face down anyone standing in the way of your dreams. Written at his lowest low, the song encapsulates ENIS’ drive and resilience to keep pushing forward, despite whatever or whoever tries to stop him. Speaking of the single ENIS says “If you wanna race me, I will crash you.

The self-written single was produced by Dutch producer Sekko (Anes) and LA based-producer Joe Harrison (Louis & the Yakuza, Lianne La Havas, Nick Hakim), mixed and mastered by John Armstrong (James Blake, Travis Scott, Tyler The Creator), with a visual captured by Italian film director Leonardo Casalini (Vogue, Fashion Film Festival Milano).

Born and raised in Copenhagen in a Kurdish household with rigid beliefs ENIS knew from an early age that he would have to choose between satisfying his family, or following his destiny and becoming his true self. Knowing he could not reveal his sexuality at home, ENIS moved to London and embarked on his mission to become an artist, on his own terms. After getting discovered at 17 he was shocked to be told that he should again hide his sexuality and be less controversial. Rather than compromise, he took the hard way, built his own record label and now, based in LA, releases art under his record label ENISRECORDS. His public outing in the wake of the release of his debut single Fadeaway brought home the intolerance of his family who are still hoping it is merely a “phase”. Death threats followed. Yet, unperturbed, ENIS built up more resilience than he ever imagined possible and continued to tell his story – giving a voice to anyone silenced elsewhere.

A captivating storyteller with an incredible story to tell, the future is looking bright for this audacious new star.
