SUBCULTURAL GIANTS GET TOGETHER FOR A DIY-INSPIRED COLLABORATION.

Two brands synonymous with music subcultures team up again for a release that celebrates 90s grunge slacker attitude and DIY approach.

Founded in LA in 2015 by Alex James and Vlad Elkin, PLEASURES is steeped in music, including grunge, metal and punk. The brand has exploded onto the streetwear scene with pieces inspired by the lives, passions and obsessions of its co-founders. Not afraid to poke fun or push for controversy. All to remain authentic and progressive. PLEASURES is a natural fit match with Dr. Martens, who have been part of the DNA of music subcultures including 70s Punk and 90s Riot Grrrl.

For this drop, Alex has drawn upon the do-it-yourself attitude of the 90s zine culture and channelled it into an easy-going sandal. The PLEASURES Jorge imagines the classic mule that are the result of a cut-up shoe. As Alex puts it, “Just chop off the back”. An ode to extreme comfort in soft black Nappa leather and chill out vibe sole. Finished with embroidered PLEASURES script as if signed by Alex himself.

The PLEASURES Jorge drops 30th April and will be available at drmartens.com and select partners.
