UNITED BY SUBCULTURAL HERITAGE. DR. MARTENS AND A-COLD-WALL* RELEASE BLACK EDITION OF THEIR UTILITARY PARTNERSHIP.

With its distinctive yellow stitch, grooved sole and heel loop, it was a worker's boot, initially worn by postmen and police officers; comfortable, durable and light compared to its competitors at the time. The latest collaboration from Dr. Martens and A-COLD-WALL* is an architectural reinterpretation of the 1461 shoe. The two brands reunite for a fusion of utilitarian design. The London-based luxury menswear brand challenges the boundaries of fashion with socio-political symbolism and expressive garments that engage the conversation about Britain's social climate. The history of Dr. Martens opposes the norm and therefore a new collaboration was inevitable. Through the visionary lens of founder and creative director Samuel Ross, they have reimagined the silhouette of their work boots and designed a shoe that reflects the working-class heritage of both brands. The aesthetic direction is influenced by Ross's own upbringing and his immersive approach to design ensures that the 1461 shoe evokes images of brutalist architecture and utility.

The 1461 Bex ACW shoe features an innovative iced sole with a cutting-edge black EVA insole and is made from a contrasting black smooth leather upper. Made with hidden ghillie lacing, contrast top stitching and printed with silver foil A-COLD-WALL* branding on the back. The shoe is finished with brushed silver metal rivets, a dual-branded footbed and a black AirWair smooth leather heel loop.

The 1461 ACW* drops 04.11 at a-cold-wall.com and will be available from 6th of November at drmartens.com and select partners. €249 / Sizes: 35 to 47.5.
