THE AAPE STREETWEAR AESTHETIC COLLIDES WITH DR. MARTENS’ ICONIC DESIGN. TWO BRANDS EXISTING IN SUPERPOSITION.

AAPE, the sibling of long-time Dr. Martens collaborator A Bathing Ape, finally gets a collection of their own. A clash of streetwear culture and heritage British design. Placing the iconography of AAPE within the context of Dr. Martens DNA.

Since launching in 2012, AAPE has been forging its own identity and design language, experimenting with iconic elements through a lens aimed squarely at new generations. With a focus on playful motifs and pop culture inspirations, the Japanese streetwear creators have been pushing boundaries wherever possible.

Dr. Martens’ timeless 1461 silhouette, a 3-eye shoe that has been a design staple for over 60 years viewed through AAPE’s creative lens. Crafted from Smooth leather in classic black or utilitarian olive green detailed with an embossed vamp featuring AAPE’s Moonface logo and “SOMEWHERE IN THE AAPE UNIVERSE” text. Complemented with a backstrap with “AAPE UNVS” script. Instantly recognisable yellow welt stitch and branded heel loop proudly display DM’s history mirrored by a special edition two-tone AAPE label. Finished with a hidden Moonface logo on the cushioned sole.
