While on vacation, Timotej Letonja – Numero Netherlands editor-in-chief, allowed himself a little treat by paying a visit to Nōema. The dinner experience and ambiance was enough for him to declare the restaurant as his favourite spot on the island. Located in the iconic and historic white-washed part of Mykonos old-city, the place is centered around a hidden courtyard – the Avli – with different areas, just like a traditional Cycladic home.

Nōema has it all; there is an indoor saloon, a stand-alone concept store with a lot to discover, the restaurant has a patio and delicious delicacies, and the outdoor bar hosts intimate live sets. Besides that, Nōema even offers a private dining space, which is unique for the island. The combination of it all creates a beautiful vibe, which makes Nōema an truly incredible hotspot on the island.

Nōema opened its doors for the first time in 2021, now, the contemporary restaurant with the bohemian flair goes into its 4th seasonal programme. The cusine pays homage to the heritage of the Greek island. The director of the Kitchen is Athinagoras Kostakos, who masters a new style of greek cuisine. His dishes are rooted in simplicity, seasonality and community. All delicious creations are meant to be shared, taverna-style, matching the mediterranean spirit. The daily local harvest and catches of the chefs team and suppliers decides the menue. From dishes like Raw belly of tuna with smoked beef fat & caviar to Local blue crab salad and Beef carpaccio with wild artichokes, or cocktails like Lifokos made using Greek brandy, rum and a local botanical liqueur – Nōema surpasses everyones expectations.

Next to the delicious food, Nōema invites visitors to enjoy the sunsets and sunrises accompanied with music and dancing. When opening the season in May, the line up included local talents such as the iconic Greek electo-meets folk group RE:KÜLTURA, followed by a live set from Greek club scene legend and music collector, Elated Mind. Nōema also hosts international DJs and live acts every night of the week. Creating ambience while bringing people together. 

Nōema is a special place, owned by British restaurateur Richard Caring, who is a legend in the hospitality industry. The place was formerly an open air cinema, today it continues shedding light on the landscapes. The people, ideas and traditions of Aegean Island of Mykonos are deeply anchored in Nōemas core, which makes it not only famous for its food but also for the atmosphere. Richard Caring truly lives up to his name, as Timotej letonja experienced an impeccable service during his visit. He invites his guests to experience a carefree evening — easy-going, spirited and unscripted. 

Guests can choose their mouthwatering delights alla carte or experience Noema’s set menus, such as an arrangement of vegetarian dishes at €90, ranging up to €180pp for the exquisite feasting menu.
