On June 1st, I had the pleasure of attending the Telekom Electronic Beats party in Vienna—a picturesque and clean city full of history and majestic monuments. I’m happy I could visit the city during the day and meet many lovely people before and during the event. The weather was perfect, way better than I’m used to in Amsterdam. The event was next to the Danube River, near a beautiful park. We arrived during sunset hour and witnessed the energy of the end of the day—a very colorful and joyful setting, great sound, and dancers. Jayda G played from 10 pm-12 am, and it was sensational! House gems throughout the whole set, and I danced throughout the journey. Her album is going to drop in just four days, and I can’t wait to give it a listen! Grateful for the lovely experience and vibes! Great initiative for us Gen Z kids. (Joiah Luminosa)

Music is the lifeblood of youth culture, which is why the brand is inviting young people to take part in a wide range of music experiences across Europe. 

The ‘Summer of Joy’ giveaway is open to young people to claim access to a range of music experiences across Europe, including exclusive small-crowd gigs, pop-up events hosted by Electronic Beats and the chance to win tickets to some of Europe’s best festivals.

The Launch

The ‘Summer of Joy’ launches with a music video style campaign film, directed by the award-winning duo BRTHR who have worked with artists such as THE WEEKND, PinkPantheress and CHARLI XCX. Featuring Jayda G, the campaign film reimagines the classic ‘Peter Pan’ story for a whole new generation.

Kicking off with an immersive club night experience at the open-air venue ‘USUS by the water’ in Vienna last night, the ‘Summer of Joy’ launch saw an extra special performance from Jayda G, alongside a line up of some of the most exciting DJ talent from across Europe. Living its promise, the brand invited young people from across its European footprint to experience this first night freedom.

The Campaign

The ‘Summer of Joy’ is the latest chapter in a multi-year programme of Gen Z focussed campaigns from Deutsche Telekom, all centred on a core promise to support the younger generation in all they do. Last year saw seven-time GRAMMY and Oscar award winner Billie Eilish collaborate with the brand to perform an exclusive live show; her first of the European leg of her world tour.
