The film Back to Black, about the life of Amy Winehouse (1983-2011), will premiere in England on April 12. The digital versions of the soundtrack album will also be released on the same day. Followed on May 1 by the physical albums in 1CD, 1LP as well as 2CD, 2LP and e-album.

‘Back To Black: Songs from the Original Motion Picture’ is special for several reasons. The album contains three original recordings from Amy’s debut album ‘Frank’ and three songs from ‘Back To Black’, with which she achieved worldwide breakthrough and won five Grammys. But Amy’s greatest sources of inspiration – who also feature vocally in the film – are also represented. Think Billy Holliday and Dinah Washington. And last but not least, Nick Cave, who (with Warren Ellis) composed and sang a special song for the singer: ‘Song For Amy’.

The Deluxe edition features more Amy classics, such as the live lounge version of ‘Valerie’, ‘Fuck Me Pumps’ and ‘Rehab’, and more artists who played a role in her all-too-short life, such as The Libertines, The Specials and Tony Bennett.

In the Netherlands, the film ‘Back to Black’, starring Marissa Abela as Amy Winehouse, can be seen in cinemas from April 18.
