The art of living the Italian way, in a mountain setting in the heart of the Piedmont region: welcome to Club Med Pragelato Sestriere

This winter, Club Med Pragelato Sestriere – the only Club Med Resort on the ski slopes of Italy – is reopening after its recent expansion and renovation. Perched 1,600 metres above sea level in the Piedmont region, this Alpine Resort welcomes holidaymakers to its hamlet of 82 chalets, including 17 new constructions built in typical Piedmont style. When it comes to food, this high-end, all-inclusive and stress-free holiday includes the very best wining and dining the region has to offer!

AN OUTSTANDING LOCATION

Club Med Pragelato Sestriere can be found on the Piedmont slopes, just a 2-hour drive from Chambéry and on the Paris-Turin high-speed railway line. This Resort offers direct access to the 400 kilometres of slopes of the Via Lattea ski area, the biggest in Italy, via a cable car connecting with the resort of Sestriere. Club Med has chosen this unspoilt valley as the location of its only Italian mountain resort, to offer you solutions for downhill skiing, snowboarding, off-piste and cross-country skiing. Not forgetting the possibilities for snowshoeing, Nordic skiing and more unusual experiences such as dog-sledding and night excursions, followed by dinner at a mountain refuge where you’ll make unforgettable memories with your friends or family.

ITALY ON A PLATE

The food served at Club Med Pragelato Sestriere has also been revisited for 2022. The new extended Gourmet Lounge restaurant, La Trattoria, has been given a facelift too. You’ll enjoy quality time with the family on the brand new mountain-view terrace where plaids are provided for your après-ski experience, or with friends at the new bar where the atmosphere is warm and friendly and musical entertainment is provided at aperitivo time. La Trattoria opens even for breakfast but also serves lunch, however late, and dinner from the à-la-carte menu. In a cosy atmosphere ideal for a romantic dinner or an evening among friends, La Tana, another renovated restaurant, serves all the specialities of Piedmont cuisine. The menu includes: fontina fondue, conscia polenta, boiled beef, various risottos, pana cotta and other hazelnut-based desserts… everything you’d expect when sampling the region’s very best dishes. All washed down with a selection of local wines: Gavi, Barbaresco, Barolo… And whether you’re a skier or not, Club Med invites you to take to the heights at a selection of mountain restaurants with the all-inclusive Club Med package.

TYPICAL PIEDMONT CHALETS

Built in 2006 for the Turin Winter Olympics, Club Med Pragelato Sestriere is all set to welcome this season’s holidaymakers in 17 new chalets offering a total of 105 bright and spacious new rooms, all decorated to reflect the spirit of their natural surroundings. In all, the Resort now boasts 82 saddle-roofed larch wood chalets – some of which are now fitted with solar panels – of Piedmont inspiration with façades weathered by the sun and snow.

A LITTLE TIME OUT

Modernised and refitted for even greater comfort and tranquillity, the Payot spa of this Italian resort now has an additional treatment booth. Set aside for manicures and pedicures, it completes the facials and bodycare range already on offer. Other ways to enjoy a little time out for yourself: unwinding in the Finnish sauna, swimming a few lengths in the heated indoor pool, or testing the Resort’s brand new gymnasium, a whole haven to help you unwind.

Warm and friendly with an energetic party atmosphere, Club Med Pragelato Sestriere certainly ticks all the boxes. A great place for a change of scene in the mountains as you get to know the true Piedmont spirit.
