Sun, space and altitude, the French Alps offer an idyllic summer retreat as full of action as its famed winter snow seasons. Picturesque landscapes provide the perfect setting for a wide variety of activities – from hiking, mountain biking and paragliding, to yoga and indulgent spa treatments, Club Med Exclusive Collection Val d’isere offers the perfect reconnection with nature, adventure sports and well-being.

Nestled in the Vallé de Joux, Club Med’s first exclusive collection property located in the Alps takes the form of a traditional wood and stone chalet that blends seamlessly into the charming village of Val d’isere. When one thinks of the alps, skis, apré and snow-powdered mountains come to mind. However, the summer months are just as full of activity and natural beauty. Hiking, electric mountain biking and yoga take the place of snow sports, while luscious greens, wild flowers and jagged rock faces are unveiled by the shifting seasons.

As summer unfolds and so too does the desire for a break from the frenzy of modern life, the mountains emerge as the ideal destination for those seeking adventure and retreat. Club Med raises the bar on luxury and experience with its ‘Exclusive Collection’. The property has received a spectacular renovation that exudes refined elegance through alpine design. Vast terraces host an abundance of comfortable sun loungers, perfect for soaking in the fresh mountain air and dramatic scenery. Upon entering the hotel, you are greeted by a thoughtfully designed interior that combines natural elements with contemporary touches, giving a warm ambience that incorporates the spirit of the surrounding landscapes. This feeling continues into the bedrooms which are cosy and spacious in equal measure. The rooms feature plush furnishings, a soothing colour palette and all the amenities one would expect in a top luxury hotel (special mention goes to the complimentary minibar). Step out onto the balcony and you are once again surrounded by facades of blissful green and cascading rockfaces.

Club Med has been leading the way in all-inclusive holidays since 1956. A wide variety of meals, snacks and drinks are on offer throughout the day. The large terrace in front of the main entrance area plays host to pop-up raclette stations, impressive canapé spreads and evening barbecues. The resort also features two restaurants: Le Bellevarde and Les Millésimes. The former is a buffet-style restaurant featuring a diverse assortment of cuisines from cooked-to-order fish, steak and Asian stands, to specialised charcuterie and artisan cheese sections. There is a heavy focus on local flavours and ingredients with fresh seasonal products in abundance. This is also the case in Les Millésimes, a more intimate table service restaurant that takes a fine dining approach. The menu is thoughtfully put together and allows guests the opportunity to experience the full culinary capabilities of the resort’s talented chefs.

Club Med also takes an all-inclusive approach to vast majority of the activities on offer at the resort. Families can make use of the wide variety of kids’ activities available from the age of 4 months to 17 years old. A dedicated babysitting service allows adults time to themselves while children are well taken care of and entertained. The focus of the activities is the exploration of the outdoors. Hikes for all levels, electric mountain biking and trail running enable guests to fully experience the surrounding natural beauty. Those with a head for heights can take exploration to the next level with the via ferrata or paragliding experiences on offer (at an additional cost). Nestled amidst the towering peaks, a series of steps, rope bridges and ladders traverse sheer drops as you climb 400 meters to the summit to take in the all-encompassing views. Although safety is ensured through attachment to a steel cable courtesy of two carabiners, this is easily forgotten when faced with the fallen rubble a few hundred meters below.

Once back from taking in the dramatic landscapes, unwind with yoga by Heberson or make the most of the 17-meter indoor pool, sauna and indulgent outdoor hot tub. The Club Med Spa by Cinq Mondes offers a wide variety of treatments in a tranquil setting that stays true to its locality. Whether you choose a traditional massage, rejuvenating facial, or holistic body treatment, each experience is crafted to restore balance in mind, body and soul.

Sustainability is integrated into Club Med’s all-inclusive formula. Club Med has invested heavily to optimize energy management thanks to specific installations such as thermal insulation and GTB (Technical Building Management), making it possible to control and limit consumption of water and energy. As of today, Club Med Mountain Resorts are the only hotels to be BREEAM certified in the French Alps. The resort is also committed to the elimination of all single-use plastics, providing a large, cow-bell shaped, metal water bottle to each guest which can be refilled at various water points throughout the hotel.
