The collaboration builds on both Chloé and Teva’s belief that design should facilitate freedom of movement and exploration. Gaby Aghion established Chloé in 1952 with the aim of pioneering luxury ready-to-wear that centres on ease and femininity, offering elegant modern clothes to liberate women from the stiffly formal fashions of the time. Teva was similarly born out of necessity, around 30 years later in 1984, on the banks of the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon, when a resourceful river guide strapped two Velcro watch bands to a pair of old flip-flops to prevent the sandals from floating downstream. The two brands have come together, blending these philosophies to create a range of Chloé × Teva sandals that are both lightweight and dynamic in their design.

The Chloé × Teva collection reimagines Teva’s iconic silhouettes, the Hurricane XLT2 and Hurricane XLT2 Ampsole, with classic and playful recycled straps emblazoned with the Chloé logo, while keeping the sandal’s key lower-impact features such as a 50% recycled rubber outsole that provides durability and traction. The Hurricane XLT2 is available in ‘Natural White’ (490 USD, 390 EUR), while the Hurricane XLT2 Ampsole comes in ‘Black- White’ and ‘Multicolour Pink’ (575 USD, 470 EUR).

Chloé and Teva are united in their respective steadfast social and environmental sustainability strategies. As part of Chloé’s transition towards a purpose-driven model, the Maison has published its sustainability report as an open resource; released its Vertical Project (a range of products with a unique digital ID so users can trace their journey from field to finished product), and introduced the Women Forward Partnerships between partnering NGOs and social enterprises working to close the gender gap. In 2020, Teva transitioned 100% of its webbing to traceable verifiable recycled plastic. Since then, Teva has diverted 72.8 million plastic bottles and 68,000 pounds of post-industrial waste from landfills.

Teva’s Corporate Responsibility Program encourages the brand to look at the broader impact of its activities on employees, customers, communities, and the environment as a whole. As a part of this program, Teva has set science-based targets for water, energy and greenhouse gas reduction and is on track to hit these goals by 2030.

The Chloé × Teva collection will be available in Chloé boutiques, on Chloe.com and on Teva.com beginning May 16th 2023.
