CFCL released the “GEL-LYTE III CM1.95” sneaker collaboration with ASICS, which was first introduced at our VOL.5 presentation during Paris Fashion Week Womenswear Spring/Summer 2024.

This minimally designed sneaker is extremely lightweight and emits only 1.95 kg/CO2-e of greenhouse gas (GHG).A detailed Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) was conducted on all processes from material procurement to disposal, including not only the sneaker itself but also the packaging box, resulting in the worldʼs lowest GHG emissions among sneakers currently on the market with figures publicly disclosed.

Based on the “GEL- LYTE III OG”, one of ASICS Sportstyle’s iconic sneakers that brings together the company’s technologies, our commitment to achieve the world’s lowest GHG emissions was realized by incorporating ASICS’ advanced solutions.

As a result, compared to the companyʼs signature sneakers, this sneakerʼs GHG emissions were reduced by approximately 80% from the procurement to manufacturing processes, and by approximately 75% in the transportation process. Furthermore, in order to improve the design, we engaged in co-creation efforts through repeated dialogue regarding the direction of materials, knit density, and selection of parts; and by adding stylish coloring by CFCL, we were able to improve the quality and design. A sophisticated sneaker suitable for modern urban life, the can be worn for a wide range of purposes from walking to special occasions.
