Time and time again, Cartier watches present recognizable shapes with a contemporary approach, designs that balance on the edge of reality and fantasy, almost created with the perspective of a magician. The Maison captures the magic of time by capturing its beauty and shaping its mystery with their watch repertoire.

Magic is the common thread in the Cartier Watches & Wonders collection of 2024, implemented in modern classics such as the Tortue Monopoussoir Chronograph from the Cartier Privé collection. Unexpected encounters between figurative and abstract forms are captured in a series of animal jewelery watches. The collection invites you to play with time, sometimes as an optical phenomenon such as with the Reflection de Cartier watch. The magic can also be found in the unexpected, such as with the Santos-Dumont Rewind watch, which takes us back in time thanks to a movement that turns the hands counterclockwise or the Santos de Cartier Dual Time watch, where the time can be read in two different places.

Tortue Monopoussoir Chronograph

Cartier Privé is the eighth annual rendezvous for watch enthusiasts, offering a contemporary take on one of the most prestigious watches in Cartier’s repertoire. It follows on from the rare watches unveiled in previous years, such as the Crash, the Tank Cintrée and the Tonneau, all redesigned with one ambition in mind: using technology for aesthetics. This year the Tortue is featured and Cartier has chosen to introduce the monopoussoir chronograph complication.

The Tortue watch was created in 1912: a dialogue between curves and clean lines. The new hours/minutes Tortue is faithful to the original design, but has been subtly reworked. With horns stretched along the strap and a slimmer profile, the watch has become lighter. The movement is 4.3 mm thick, making it the thinnest chronograph of the Maison. Paying tribute to the very first model, the watch features apple-shaped hands and a rail that follows the iconic shape of the watch around the hour markers, making the dial even easier to read.

The new versions are limited and numbered to 200 pieces and the platinum version to 50 pieces.

Animal Jewelery Watches

The emblematic animals of Cartier’s animal world, charismatic and indomitable, have been present in the watches since 1914, the year in which the panther’s fur first appeared on a watch case. This year, a fascinating hybrid, born from a meeting of the zebra and the crocodile, inspires a completely cobbled creation. It is graphic and organic at the same time, with each stripe varnished by hand. The silhouette of this imaginary creature surrounds a diamond-shaped dial. The refinement of the engraving around each colored stone reflects the expertise of the Maison.

Reflection de Cartier

After the Clash [Un]limited and Coussin watches, the Reflection de Cartier watch continues the odyssey of magic, illusion and fascination. The motto of the collection: depicting the mystery of time through daring creations.

This watch is the result of Cartier’s work with shapes and combines the savoir-faire of both Cartier watchmakers and jewelers. It all starts with the architecture of the bracelet, which combines openwork structures and polished reflective gold with elongated lines and defined edges. Tension arises when a delicate dial meets its reflection, where time seems to go backwards. The gemstone-like beveled glass on the dial marks the dual identity of the piece. The combination of a snow setting and an inverted setting has both a tactile and sparkling appeal.

Santos de Cartier Dual Time

The new Santos de Cartier Dual Time watch is daring and innovative. The mechanical movement with automatic winding combines two time zones without sacrificing the usual durability and reliability. With tapered, ergonomic lines that form a synergy between the lines of the case and those of the bracelet, the watch in the steel version exudes elegance. The watch is further composed of refined details such as sword-shaped rhodium hands with a luminous layer, a seven-sided facet cut crown and a gray counter with a second time zone.

Just like the Santos de Cartier collection as a whole, the bracelet offers ultimate ease of use. Available in steel or leather, all versions can be quickly changed thanks to the patented QuickSwitch system, whose invisible mechanism merges with the architecture of the case. The metal bracelet can also be adjusted to the nearest link, without tools, thanks to the patented SmartLink size adjustment system.

Santos-Dumon Rewind watch

Changing the course of time is the technical and aesthetic goal of the new Santos-Dumont Rewind watch. The brown-red dial is full of character with subtle accents that emphasize how unique this limited edition in platinum is. This Limited Edition follows in the footsteps of the unparalleled pilot Alberto Santos-Dumont, for whom anything is possible. So why not make the apple-shaped hands, with their mechanical movement with reverse manual winding, caliber 320 MC, move backwards instead of forwards? This timeless watch remains true to the elegant original model from 1904 and to the pioneering spirit of Santos-Dumont, whose Cartier signature is engraved both forward and backward on the back of the dial.

Limited edition of 200 numbered copies.
