Continuing the dynamic conversations around women’s empowerment cultivated in the first season of Women’s Perspectives, which was inaugurated at the Women’s Pavilion by Expo 2020 Dubai in collaboration with Cartier, the Maison is pleased to announce the launch of a second season hosted by Yara Shahidi, global ambassador, American actress, producer and change agent.

A roster of exceptional advocates had been called upon to take part in this second season, shining a light on their role in driving conversations forward within specific industry fields, from entrepreneurship to art, fashion and culture.

Women’s Perspectives reflects the Maison’s belief that humanity at large thrives when women thrive and highlights the importance of tackling the issue of equality hand in hand. Discussions range from defining childhood experiences to professional journeys and visions of the future, always centring the importance of women’s and minorities’ influence and agency in society.

Each of the six episodes takes the form of a personal conversation between Shahidi and her guest. This launch episode features Meena Harris, an American lawyer, best-selling children’s book author, producer, and founder of Phenomenal Media, a Tony-Award winning consumer and media brand that elevates the stories of women and underrepresented communities. In this episode, Harris recounts her journey growing up surrounded by powerful women supporting each other, normalising female ambition, and instilling confidence into young children and girls.

Women’s empowerment has been the centre of attention for the Maison. The Cartier Women’s Initiative nurtures and supports female entrepreneurship, and Cartier Philanthropy has defined women’s social and economic development as a key pillar of change. The beating heart of the Maison’s creativity is the spirit of independent, uncompromising feminine grace and power reflected in its collections.

“These trailblazing changemakers all share a common willingness to tackle the world biggest issues. The Women’s Perspective Podcast deeply resonates with my belief that multiple voices from all industries are required to create the change we want to see and forge a brighter future together.”

Yara Shahidi, Women’s Perspectives podcast host.

The podcast series will be available on Spotify and other podcast platforms from 8th March 2024, with future guests to be announced shortly.
