BYBORRE BY RE
Reconstruct is a design collective consisting of female designers, which produces unique made-to-measure and made-to-order pieces, created by constructing overstock and pre-used materials. Their aim is to be an active sustainable force in the fashion industry, while being an asset in forming unity in the creative community by creating an approachable, welcoming space for all.
The collective came to exist during their graduation year at the art academy in Rotterdam in 2016. They were challenged to work together with the entire class to fund and realize their very own fashion show after the academy decided to no longer facilitate it.
After a successful graduation they continued on with a small group of likeminded alumni, who were all eager to continue working together and elevate their individual work through collaboration. Through the years the collective took on many forms, constantly evolving, all to flow towards the formation known today. The collective solely focuses on working with second hand and overstock material.
For this capsule collection the collective worked with textiles provided BYBORRE. Both Amsterdam based entrepreneurs focus is on creating zero waste products. BYBORRE exclusively focuses on textile providing for leading companies all over the world. With their ready to order, responsible fabrics they are changing the textile game. For this reason it’s not common for them to have overstock. That’s what gives extra character to this collection, that consists out of some deadstock of the BYBORRE clothing line. They reached out to Reconstruct Collective, to bring new life to their few leftovers.
The Collective was lead by the beautiful colours and texture of the fabrics, this resulted in 9 one of one pieces which are a great collision of BYBORRE’s technical knits and Reconstruct’s bold aesthetic.
They were able to let the collection speak through this photoshoot. For which Reconstruct worked closely together with photographer Sophia Mulder who was able to capture the essence of this capsule collection perfectly. The collection will be presented at The Social Hub, Wibautstraat 129 in Amsterdam.
The evening will be accompanied with sound ambiance by Joiah, implementing 2 minutes of silence at 8PM, for Remembrance Day of WWII.
