BURNA BOY UNVEILS “BIG 7” SINGLE
Grammy® Award-winning global superstar Burna Boy has finally released his highly anticipated single, “Big 7,” and officially announced the release date for his 7th studio album, ‘I Told Them…’, set to be released on August 25th via Spaceship/Bad Habit/Atlantic Records. The album is currently available for pre-order.
“Big 7” has already gained immense popularity with over 12 million listens of an early snippet on TikTok. Produced by MDS, the track is accompanied by an official music video directed by the legendary Benny Boom, shot in the vibrant city of New York. The video showcases exciting cameos from Burna’s inner crew, known as the 7G’s, as well as appearances from RZA (Wu-Tang Clan), Busta Rhymes, Junior Mafia, actor Shameik Moore (Spiderman), and others.
Burna Boy shares his insight into the inspiration behind “Big 7,” describing it as a melodic tribute to embracing new heights in his musical journey. The title symbolizes the aspiration to reach greater horizons, with the number seven representing attainable and harmonious growth.
The song’s message conveys the importance of setting ambitious yet realistic goals, embracing personal growth, and overcoming challenges. It emphasizes celebrating progress, acknowledging each step forward, and appreciating positive momentum without being overwhelmed by unrealistic expectations.
“Big 7” follows Burna Boy’s previous single, “Sittin’ On Top Of The World,” featuring multi-platinum artist, 21 Savage. Both tracks are part of his 7th studio album, “I Told Them…,” which draws inspiration from the 90s Hip Hop era, Wu-Tang Clan’s unity, and Busta Rhymes’ creative vision.
Recently, Burna Boy achieved another milestone with his sold-out show at London Stadium, becoming the first African artist in history to accomplish such a feat in the UK. The show featured impressive guest appearances from artists like Dave, Stormzy, J-Hus, and more, and was available for an exclusive Apple Music Live stream.
Burna Boy’s sixth studio album, “LOVE, DAMINI,” brought him to new heights, with its highest U.S debut on the Billboard Top 200 chart. The album’s RIAA-certified platinum single, “Last Last,” topped the Billboard U.S Afrobeats Songs chart for 8 weeks before securing the #1 spot at Urban radio. The album was highly praised, earning recognition from The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Billboard, Vulture, Variety, and many more.
With the release of “Big 7” and the impending launch of “I Told Them…,” Burna Boy continues to make waves in the music industry, solidifying his position as a global musical force to be reckoned with.
