Outerwear

Combining the rich history and foundations of Barbour’s Bedale wax jacket, first designed in 1980 with C.P. Company’s Mille Jacket, the Barbour x C.P. Company Creel Wax Jacket showcases both brand’s illustrious heritage and expertise. Featuring Barbour’s classic 8oz waxed cotton, the jacket is designed with optimal practicality in mind, featuring wrap around flap pockets and a detachable hood, emblazoned with C.P.’s instantly recognisable watch lens and goggles. Additionally, an adjustable collar detailed with 8-wale cord and branded cup studs seamlessly complete the jacket for a signature Italian sportwear finish. Inspired by the rich black wool of the Hebridean sheep once woven into this signature tweed making water-resistant, hard-wearing garments. Native breeds like Shetland and Manx Loaghtan produce colours ranging from black and charcoal which form the colour palette for this season’s collaboration. Natural plant dyes have been used to add brighter colours to some of the more earthy shades including this season’s new orange colourway which can be found in the Creel Wax Jacket.

The collection features two waxed cotton jackets. The signature Barbour x C.P. Company TC Explorer Wax Jacket takes inspiration from C.P. Company’s classic Explorer Jacket; The first jacket from the brand’s archive to feature the now iconic integrated lenses. This unique style has been crafted from Barbour’s classic 8oz cotton and featuring a heavy-weight two-way ring-pull zip that continues up to the hood. A seamless fusion of the two brand’s most recognisable signatures, this outerwear style is also finished with C.P. Company’s classic watch lens and goggles, and a split compartment pocket to the chest, presented in either a black or brown colourway.

Ian Bergin, Director of Menswear at Barbour said: “Iconic is a much over used term. But both C.P. Company and Barbour have a rich tradition of innovation, intelligent design and form and function. Both brands have created truly iconic products which are based on their use and practicality and through years become recognized as great products spanning generations and tastes. Massimo Osti created a design language condensing militaria and service garments into a recognizable design signature. Barbour has always developed products geared to protecting the wearer against the uncertain weather conditions of living by the North Sea and has a rich industrial past and still manufactures today in the North-East of England. Working with the C.P. Company team is always a pleasure and in this collaboration, we have developed pieces which are in some ways instant classics.”

Paul Harvey, Designer at C.P. Company said: “Working with Barbour is always a tremendous pleasure since the two brands have so much in common, but this time was especially good as we finally got to taste firsthand the Barbour experience on the shores of the North Sea. We think the resulting jackets reflect the closeness of the brands and also their shared integrity in everything they do.”
