At ASICS’s core lies a dedication to create shoes with an aim of nurturing healthy young people through movement. This founding mission leads back to ASICS philosophy of a Sound Mind Sound Body. Taking care of our mental health is as important as looking after our physical health.

In honor of World Mental Health Day (October 10), ASICS SportStyle organized Uplift, a physical experience at NXT Museum aimed at improving mental wellbeing in today’s hectic daily life. To underline their philosophy and bring it closer to the community, this city-based activation was designed to initiate conversation, awareness and participation on the subject of movement and mindfulness.

ASICS SportStyle also used the event to introduce a new shoe. First released in 2004, the GEL-1090™ sneaker quickly became a firm favorite among runners thanks to its sleek design and superior comfort. For 2022, the re-imagined GEL-1090™ v2 sneaker delivers a clean take on the bold and technical. The shoe boasts an aesthetic typical of early 2000s running shoes blended with groundbreaking technology born from ASICS’ 70-year history of footwear innovation and human-centric science. This edition has been curated and designed by Danish creative Freja Wewer. This project launches this November.
