Passionate about music, Victor Lévy-Lasne and Maxime Le Guil founded Mix with the Masters in 2010. For the past 12 years, they have been inviting the greatest producers, mixers, and other professionals in today’s music production to share their experience during immersive seminars organized in the heart of a Provencal estate. Building on their success, they enriched their offer in 2015 with the launch of a digital content platform.

True to their high-end positioning, they have just inaugurated their first recording studio in Paris: Rue Boyer. A unique place, as much for its exceptional technical characteristics as for its atmosphere inspired by the mythical studios of the second half of the 20th century.

This new address brings together Maxime’s music production activities and those of Mix with the Masters (video content and masterclasses) but is also opened to certain Parisian or international musicians and producers looking for a workspace in the capital.

“No modern studio built in the last 5 years has been designed with such high standards. We went back to what was done by a very select group of designers and architects in the 1970s and 1980s, but added modern innovations to achieve the exceptional quality we were looking for.”

Every technical detail has been carefully considered. The place generates its own ultra-filtered electricity from facilities in the basement to power the audio machines and keep noise disturbance to a minimum. Each socket has a double terminal providing standard electricity for chargers or lighting and a special plug for connecting shielded cables that deliver an extremely high-quality current.

The two partners surround themselves with the best French and international professionals. “The collapse of the record industry has led to a shortage of qualified professionals in certain sectors and we have sometimes had to look abroad for these skills,” Maxime points out. The cabling, for example, comes from the Japanese company Mogami, a reference in the field, while the technician responsible for its installation is a British who now works for the band Radiohead after an appearance at the BBC.
